Cinema is important enough in the life of any society. It is one of the most popular directions of art. Many people all over the world prefer to go to the cinema because it is one of the best ways to spend free time with pleasure. However nowadays we have many video facilities, that's why less and less people visit cinema. Nevertheless, for many people cinema looks like a habit. Almost every town in Russia has a cinema. There are such genres of films as the western, the melodrama, the thriller, the musical, the action movie, the drama and the comedy.
Cinema is located in almost every town, however theatres are usually located only in big cities. Some people find it a pleasure to go to the theatre and visit it every week or month. I would like to say that the theatre is one of the most ancient directions of arts.
Theatre is a direction of art which includes many different directions such as literature, music, choreography, circus, singing, visual art, etcetera. There are some special features of theatre in different countries. For instance, lots of people know about famous classical Japanese theatre Kabuki or shadow puppetry which is also an ancient art, by the way.
As for me, I like reading more than cinemas and theatres. I like to be self-concentrated. Reading educates a person, enriches his intellect and imagination. Books help to build a person's character and moral and life values. Moreover, books bring pleasure, good mood and excitement. It's an interesting way to have free time. Sometimes we read the same book again and again, and we are not bored. There are different genres of reading: detective stories, historical books, adventure stories, novels, biographies, educational books, classics. Fairy tales are enjoyed and read by children in their early childhood, books about adventures and journeys are read by those who are fond of travelling. Legends and myths are preferred by those who like history. Some people can't live without reading, because it is their passion.
