Volcanic ash and activity in aviation

Вопрос SELCAL -  Have you ever encountered any difficulties related to volcanic activity? Can you share? Paraphrase: Please tell me about your flying experience in the area of volcanic activity?

As for me, I haven't  encountered any difficulties in my practice. Volcanic ash near active volcanoes are a flight safety danger, especially if you fly at night. Volcanic ash is really hard and abrasive, and can quickly cause big wear to propellers and turbocompressor blades, damage (scratch) cockpit windows, make visibility worse. The ash contaminates fuel and water systems of the aircraft, also it can jam gears, and provoke engines flameout. Its particles have low melting point, so they melt in the engines' combustion chamber then the ceramic mass sticks to turbine blades, fuel nozzles, and combustors—which can lead to total engine failure. Ash can also contaminate the cabin and damage avionics. That's why it can be really dangerous and provoke even emergency landing.
